Your account should be closed immediatly and open a new one. Check your credit report. Myfreecreditreport.com will give you an accurate reading of all three credit reporting agencies. However, I think you can go to most banks and run your credit report for a fee. Just verify that everything reporting on your credit is infact yours. Portect all your checking account/atm cards numbers, use a paper shredder.

Be aware at atm machines for tampering or someone watching you. Never give out your account info to someone you have not contacted yourself ( lots of scams will call you up asking for donation and verification of account numbers. They say they already have this info and just need it to be verified… wrong.. if they are a legit business, they will give you a call back number or even a local office to do your businiess in person)

  1. to be honest, I think is was just a bank error. Sometimes the teller typed in wrong account number. Any maybe this other person’s name is Mike Dolly. That is why once the bank realized their mistake, they put the money back to your account. You are not too clear about the money taking from your account, but I assum that is what happend. And that don’t count as ID Theft…because ID Theft is another person impersonate YOU. But if the bank have a name of the person (which is different from yours), that should be bank mistake. The annualcreditreport.com is legit to order your credit reports. It is always good to know your credit score and review all the accounts that you have and see if any one else open accounts under your SSN and name.
