Question by Courtney: When someone’s identity is stolen, what does the “Identity Thief” get out of it?
Other than all access to their bank account.
By the way, I don’t plan on stealing anybody’s identity guys, :) But I don’t see myself googling Pros to Identity Theft and finding anything. So if you could please help me that would be great.

Someone stole my identity once. They came to my house and gave it back to me. They said it sucked. That I had no money in the bank and no credit. Then he punched me in the face.

  1. They have the ability to get whatever they want without it affecting their credit in any way shape or form.

  2. Their Social Security Number, Credit Card Numbers, Personal information, etc. Pretty much everything that could screw you over financially.

  3. they get money. plain and simple. also people steal social security info and sell it to illegal immigrants…

  4. yeah, they get acess to whoevers bank account. and then they can use theyr credit cards and stuff to buy stuff, at least, thats what i always thought

  5. free stuff with your credit cards because they don’t get stuck with the bill also if they get a ticket you will pay it not them

  6. identy theifts can get into ur bankking acount and steal money

  7. I love you. That’s all.

  8. They can pretend to be you, so basically if they steal your credit card they can buy tons of things and the person who is stolen from has to pay. They can do all sorts of bad things while remaining anonymous. Well, not anonymous- someone else is blamed. If one gets caught it is NOT worth it, they can spend a loooong time in jail. But the stupid people who take the risks can have a bit of short-lived fun.

  9. They usually have your SSN and open up credit in your name.

  10. Cash

  11. They could access any number of things. They could buy a car on your credit, when they don’t pay for it your credit score will plummet. They could open a new credit card and make endless charges on it. Depending on what type of information was taken, they could access your various accounts (e-mail, facebook, etc).

  12. They become you. They can get a job, run up bills, buy cars and houses, not pay taxes (and IRS comes after the real you).
An identity thief can ruin your life.

  13. and identity

  14. A lot. In the worst case it can be upgraded to full use with the access to social number, work, insurance and passport.

The agents of Israelis Mossad guilty of assassinations are using the double Identity from various innocent people around the world.

    The worst scenario!
How would you like to be accused of murder?

    =======================================
Three innocent Australians have been caught up in an unprecedented international scandal, their identities stolen along with those of another 23 Westerners by members of a hit squad almost certainly operatives with the shadowy Israeli spy agency Mossad.

Their names were yesterday among 15 new names released by Dubai police, suspects in the killing of Hamas militant Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a hotel in Dubai on January 19.

  15. I work at a financial institution so we are always being trained on identity theft since it is todays most common form of theft. Sadly many people are not properly informed about how dangerous identity theft can be until it is too late.

The theif has access to all kinds of things like opening up charge card accounts, getting loans in your name, if its a good bank that has good identity theft procedure hopefully that would never happen…they can have access to your personal information like bank accounts, getting cell phone, like you said, etc…they can use your mailing address to get other bank accounts.

Bottom line is they can ruin your credit…..also just fyi we see alot of illegal hispanic people that have a social security card that belongs to someone that is deceased and they have an altered drivers license or a phony other form of id…..funny thing is that once we put the social in the computer it tells us right then and there that the social belongs to someone who is deceased. This is a form of identity theft ,even if that person is deceased, because they are taking an identification number that does not belong to them and trying to use it to their financial benefit.

    Sad.

  16. Well Worst case Scenario…, They could …., Yes access your bank account, Take over your Cell Phone, Order Credit Cards in your name and Run Up the Bill, Take out Bank Loans in your name…, Take out a Mortgage on your house…., SELL YOUR HOUSE….., Sell your car possibly…, Health insurance in your name, life insurance in your name…., They Could Commit Crimes USING YOUR IDENTITY …. like you could end up getting parking tickets and warrants out for your Felony Arrest on a murder or something if someone fakes your identity well enough…

They Could Bury you in Debt to the point of your completely being screwed and collection agents hunting you forever…

To the point where it’d be easier to just steal someone else’s identity than it would be to try and reclaim your own with all the expenses they racked up..

Identity thieves ultimately if they didn’t get caught could fuck your entire life up to the point where you would be better off buying a fake id rather than using your own because your own ID could get you arrested, fined, bankrupt… etc etc etc

  17. i did a power point a couple of months ago on identity theft. it could range from most common, credit cards and finance, being able to buy whatever you want, or transfer money. or they could use your identity to get medical care. maybe visit a doctor and use your insurance to get perscripted. sometimes, a family will steal their kids identity to pay for the water or electric bill because they can not afford it. then there’s a type where the thief gets a job under you name and doesnt pay taxes. or maybe they get pulled over for speeding, guess who’s gonna get billed?
by the way, you actually can Google it. also, there were i think, 5 sub categories of identity theft. so, you should do a little more research if you’re curious.

  18. the power to be able to do it and get away with it

  19. if someone “steals your identity” they can get loans for cars, vacations, or anything else they want in your name! They get the stuff, you get the bills! Pretty sweet deal until they get caught.

They do not have to stop at “just” emptying your bank accounts (although they might START there), they have the means to get anything they want for free! By the time you start getting demands for payment … they are long gone!
