I believe all factories and plants should start investigating all employees they believe to have stolen identities, i also think there where more illegals than they got, but it’s a start!!!!!

ok i’m just going to get down to it and be somewhat brutally honest here. So i feel for those people who have had their credit card numbers stolen and charges made to their accounts that they actually did not make. I understand it sucks but with phone calls and some time banks and credit agencies almost always take off the charges and reissue you a new card. I feel for you. Now with that said let me be clear, having your credit card number stolen and your identity stolen are NOT the same thing! Having your identity stolen means you are completely robbed of who you are…. your SS#, birth-date, drivers license, credit…. everything! In my case… as if it all wasn’t enough, I was accused of crimes that I didn’t commit. Even better, you want to know how I learned that my identity had been stolen…. when federal investigators came to my work! Granted I am one of the lucky ones to have the investigators on my side investigating this, but still it doesn’t change the fact that everything I have worked hard for is being compromised or destroyed. It just doesn’t seem right that there isn’t more that can be done about this.

my cousin stole my identity he has gotten pulled over serval times since 2008 and i knew nothing about it. He was hiding the mail and I found out in 2009 when i was in the car with another person and police ran my name. Im currently paying monthly fines and have tickets going to collection agencies because of him. I can pursue my dream of joining the army because of these traffic violations. The craziest thing is they issue tickets in my name for driving suspended but the person booked is him!!

All you would need to do is file a complaint with the department that issued the tickets. If it was more than one department, file a complaint at each one. They can have all the tickets taken off your record and charge him. It would be pretty easy to prove seeing his photo and prints will be on file with the jail.

Save all your receipts and other expenses. Chances are, the court will also order your cousin to pay you restitution.

I filled out a FAFSA online, thinking it was the real one. I saved info without submitting, then discovered the real website. I went back and deleted all of the information from that website. About a month or two later, I got a phone call from “Health Facilities Federal Credit Union” saying something is wrong with my debit card. I don’t have a debit card with them. This has happened twice, about 2 months apart. Is this phone call a scam, or could my identity be stolen?

If they asked for your social security number to “verify” or update their files,then you need to run a credit check with experian.com asap!! Never give anyone your social over the phone or any info about yourself not publicly available. Never give them info to verify who you are unless you call them first. Social,mothers maiden name and address and they can do what they want. Good luck,u may need it soon.

Health Facilities Federal Credit Union is a real credit union located in SC…however the people who called you probably don’t have anything to do with them. They picked a bank at random that was listed on google so it would appear real if you checked while on the phone with them.

I entered my information including SSN and birth date but as soon as i did that I realized that the website itself was very suspicous. I am very afraid that my identity may have been stolen. You can call the credit bureaus and put an alert out. This will temporarily stop any issuance of credit under your social security number! Also watch in the mail for pre approved credit cards. Sometimes criminals will use this to get credit under your name!
